Chillin'

As the thermometer drops to abominable temperatures and another snowstorm is forecasted, I am reminded that living in such a frigid climate has its advantages. With my refrigerator already full, I have the entire front porch in which to chill my berry butternut cookies before they go into the oven.

  1. Now that is a good idea but I'm afraid it wouldn't work here as it is unseasonably warm at the moment. Watch our for the birds and squirrels helping themselves, they look very tempting :)

    1. Thankfully, my porch is covered and only needs shoveling when the snow blows in from the north or west...which it does quite often. Sigh.

  3. I thought about you today when our daughter and son-in-law flew to Chicago to spend an early Christmas with my grandson and his wife. They were told to bring every warm thing they owned--which isn't much for those of us in FL. They were there last Valentine's Day and it was not even as cold as right now.

The cold is very good motivation to stay in and bake! Stay safe!

    1. We have family coming from Los Angeles for Christmas. We've been scavenging fleece jackets and down parkas for them to wear. We also stock up on "hot hands" packets to tuck inside gloves and coat pockets.

We'll be making our annual Christmas trek into the City tomorrow, maybe we'll bump into your kids.
