Blind Optimism

It snowed last night.

Wishful Thinking: The elderly birch in our front garden isn't dying.

Optimism: I won't be shoveling the front walk because it will melt by mid-afternoon

I am in training to become a Glass is Half Full kind of girl instead of the other way round. Even so, I will be knitting mufflers for the daffodils.

  1. I think your outlook on life is mirrored by your oldest brother's. After over 6 decades of life I don't think he'll be changing his outlook much , but I don't think I could live with a constantly upbeat happy outlook kind of man anyway. Obviously God knew that in the first place and gifted me with the best husband of all for me. I believe there is a place for both outlooks on life to blend into a happy place, the place where the glass half full and the glass half empty reside together in the glass just right.

    Love you !

    1. I've learned that, sometimes, pessimism is just realism in disguise and vice versa...depending on who you're talking to :). I suppose one could say that my true aim is to fill the glass with grace so that, whether half full or half empty, it is a blessing.
