Fine Day

To sit in the shade on a fine day, and look upon verdure, is the most perfect refreshment.

We did. It was. More, please.

  1. Ha! Straight to the point sounds just the ticket - what are you reading? I am reading The Lost Painting of Sarah Voss

    1. I am plodding my way through Mill on the Floss by George Elliot. Not my favorite of hers, but I have never read it before. The book in the photo is my husband's Grisham novel. I googled yours...it sounds better for a summer afternoon.

  2. There couldn't have been a better day for that then today here in TN with 70s and cool breezes. I did sit outside in the shade and cheer my husband on as he dug and planted a new bed. But soon my to do list beckoned. Family coming in next weekend for a big birthday party and then a son's wedding after that means I'll probably put my sitting outside time on hold. But, I do get to enjoy it all from my big kitchen window as I wash dishes. Maybe that counts?

  3. We grab the days we can because it is usually too hot, humid and buggy to enjoy. We were out on the peninsula of Door County, Wisconsin on this particular fine day, surrounded by the cool breezes of Lake Michigan.

You know what another wedding means, don't you? More grandchildren.
